Lyrics

I’ve never seen gravity. I like singing, the notes … they’re inside you. When you look at the sky do you think you see the same colour as me? Have you ever seen one? An angel? I’ve got a loaded pistol in my bedroom. Not everything done can be undone. It doesn’t matter as long as we are kind. I remember now. The reason for her happiness was something she chose not to examine. The memory of it all was still there. There was something defiant in the tilt of her chin. Something admirable in her solitary existence. The mystery of her circumstances. Her curious foreign intonation that made questions of statements. The sense of security and confidence was quite new to her. At once innocent and profound. Her heart bounded with selfish joy. Questions seemed to bubble up out of her, prompted by anything and nothing. The cost of her emancipation. All that sacrifice for nothing. Absolutely at sea in the modern world. The guilt was there between them. Happiness was shy and easily scared off. Time, hustled them along. Anguished pauses in the conversation were heavy with unspoken regret. When their love was unspoken, real and perfect. Society is so unforgiving. The feeling vanished with the darkness. Now I must leave you in peace. Perhaps it was just loneliness speaking. Perhaps it was just loneliness speaking. Perhaps … all her geese are swans.
